TBD Center Associate Director Professor Ram Pendyala and the TOMNET Center research group recently conducted an exciting game show on Friday, June 14, for 44 high school students participating in the National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) at Arizona State University. The students learned about careers in transportation and then participated in a transportation trivia contest to test their knowledge about transportation systems and win fabulous prizes.
The National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) engages students in projects and field trips that demonstrate how engineers plan and maintain our systems of transportation. NSTI participants live on campus for one week while interacting with ASU engineering faculty and students, engaging in transportation-related field trips, and completing a project related to delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient multimodal transportation for all. This program is free and designed for students interested in learning more about careers in transportation. This future workforce development program is made possible through funding provided by the Federal Highway Administration and the Arizona Department of Transportation.
