Dr. Chandra R. Bhat, TBD Center Director and Professor, The University of Texas at Austin, has been named an American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Distinguished Member as part of the 2026 class of just 12 individuals selected for this honor. This is one of the most prestigious recognitions in civil engineering, awarded to fewer than 1% of ASCE’s global membership.
Dr. Bhat was recognized for his pioneering contributions to travel behavior modeling, his international leadership bridging research and practice, and his decades of mentoring the next generation of transportation professionals.
