The award recognizes the paper: “COVID & Telecommuting-Induced Changes in Individual Activity and Travel Patterns,” by Grace Jia, Kaitlyn Ng, Ekin Ugurel, Brian Lee, Ram Pendyala, and Cynthia Chen.

The study was recognized for its policy relevance as it offers insights into how telecommuting has influenced travel behavior, including impacts on vehicle miles traveled (VMT), transit use, and non-work travel. It also demonstrates the value of multi-year survey data in identifying behavioral trends and causal relationships.
