We are delighted to share that TBD Center Associate Director, Dr. Cynthia Chen, has been elected to the Washington State Academy of Sciences.
Election to the Academy honors an outstanding record of scientific and technical achievement, along with a commitment to providing the best available scientific information and technical understanding to inform complex policy decisions in Washington.
Dr. Chen, a professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering and of Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Washington, was honored for her pioneering work in human mobility analysis and infrastructure resilience. Her research has transformed transportation systems in terms of both demand and supply and has shaped future directions in community-based solutions and disaster resilience.
The TBD Center congratulates Dr. Chen on this prestigious honor.
