TBD Center Students Honored at CUTC Winter Meeting

The TBD National Center is proud to celebrate the achievements of two outstanding students who were honored at the Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C., on January 4, 2025.

Amy Fong, a Ph.D. student at the University of Michigan, advised by Dr. Atiyya Shaw, has been named the 2024 TBD National Center Student of the Year. This award recognizes Amy’s exceptional contributions to transportation research and her dedication to advancing the field.

In addition, Samantha Anderson, a (former) master’s student at the University of Texas at Austin and advised by Dr. Chandra Bhat was awarded the 2025 Milton Pikarsky Memorial – Master’s Award, one of the most prestigious recognitions for graduate students in transportation studies. This award, presented by CUTC, highlights her outstanding academic accomplishments and research impact.

Both Amy and Samantha exemplify the next generation of transportation leaders, and we look forward to their continued contributions to the profession.
